We have had a lot of traffic from people searching for information on how to celebrate Dia de la Raza. We’ve talked to several people from countries where October 12th is a holiday, but have not been able to get a lot of information about the traditions around this holiday , perhaps because it is so controversial.

Please tell us your views on this! Is it a day to “celebrate” an identity that is based on a mix of cultures? Or is it a day to “protest” and mark the loss of a culture? Or is it an over-politicized reaction to the Columbus Day holiday which has no meaning to you at all? It seems that this is a question of individual choice and feeling — how will you be spending this day?
