Serbia Wins
Serbia won the 52nd annual Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with the song “Molitva.” It was performed by Marija Serifovic who has returned home to a hero’s welcome (BBC). The Eurovision Song Contest features performances from 20 European countries, with the winner decided by votes from each country. All of the countries in the former Yugoslavia awarded the highest number of points to the Serbian entry, a historical show of cooperation among the former enemies. The BBC’s h2gs explains the rules of this “strange ritual.” You can watch videos of the contest on the official Eurovision site.

The article mentions a book by Miwako Nakajima called “Park Debut,” a novel about Japanese mommy cliques, but I was not able to find information on it online.
